The Benjamin Tale.

Recently, I came across this amazingly crafted movie by David Fincher starring Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett named, The curious case of Benjamin Button. A 2008 movie, that was way ahead of its time. The story is very well-written, and the execution is impeccable.

Here are some things about the movie that make it a perfect watch.

1. The old baby.

The story revolves around a boy who was born old. Yes, you read it right. The boy was born old. As he turned 5, he could not walk or hear or see just like any other old age person except he was young. Old yet young, young yet wise, wise yet naive. The little boy with the mind of a child along with the body of an 80-year-old.

2. The one crush

As life advances, Benjamin starts aging backward. That is, as he grows old, he grows young. During this period, he develops a friendship with Daisy. The only person who sees him as a 10-year-old rather than judge him for his body. As Daisy is the first person to extend a hand of friendship, she instantly becomes his first crush.

3. The departure.

As the story moves further along, Benjamin turns into a young adult. Hence, he moves out to find a way of his own. However, he promises his crush to write to her from all the places he visits.

4. Accepting.

Now parted, Daisy and Benjamin remain in contact through letters. Both of whom find love in other people. One day, they are united by fate only to realize they never stopped loving one another.

5. The new member.

Newly found love marks the highest of happiness in their lives. The joy, the fun, the peace, the love emerges in their lives for the first time. One fine day they find out that the arrival of a new member is due, with the joy comes to the pain as well.

6. The young father.

As Benjamin was born old, he grew young by the leading years. Daisy, on the other hand, was moving towards old age. Benjamin decides, to not be the child to his daughter and leaves them with everything he owns.

7. The child's death.

Years later, Daisy is called to an orphanage only to find out that her contact details were found in the pocket of young Benjamin’s trousers. Benjamin has now started showing the early signs of dementia. Daisy, now 60 years old is taking care of Benjamin, who is 10-year-old in mind and body.

8. Forever in your arms.

As the days pass, Benjamin grows young and young, until one day he becomes a newborn baby at an age of 84 years. Daisy, still taking care of him, is seen singing a lullaby to him while he breathes his last breath in her arms.

The entire movie is a roller-coaster ride with unseen twists and turns. The more you understand, the less you need to know.
