5 challenges faced by architects and interior designers.
In a world where infrastructure is expanding by the second, architects and interior designers continue to be undervalued. Despite the fact that we function on 8 cups of coffee and give our all to each of our designs, our efforts are simply ignored.
Have it ever occurred to you what are these challenges we face in our lives??
Underpaid.
The most difficult challenge we face is that we are underpaid. Because for some people, design is nothing more than a few lines drawn on paper. Concepts of harmony, rhythm, ventilation, circulation, and other design principles are alien to them.
A work-life balance.
We eat design; we sleep design; we think design. It is tough to separate a project from our minds. Furthermore, the clients make it impossible to achieve a healthy work-life balance with never-ending changes in the design.
Unrealistic Deadlines.
Our job is to turn our design into reality. However, expecting a design to be magically prepared in a night is practically illogical. We are a group of creative people; give us creative freedom and we will turn your houses into mansions.
Communication.
We are taught in milli-meters and quizzed in inches. It takes a lot of extra brain activity to convert every inch into a millimetre while speaking to the vendors and laborers.
1 sob = 25 prays.
Lack of Appreciation.
Most architects/interior designers rose to prominence after their deaths. The futuristic or out-of-the-box design does not always get the correct appreciation. Moreover, at times we are frowned upon for not following the herd. We just want you to trust the process because that's what art demands.
The world co-exist because of design. The most significant designer of all time is the one who decorated this world. It's high time people respect the one who decorate their homes.
